Whatever you do, finish the task. If you can't do it the way you want, then do it the way you have to. I know that sucks as a prospect but I worked my way through. It was tough but you can do it if it is important to you. The student loan folks, as you seem to already know, will require good credit or a credit worthy co-signer, just like anyone else lending money. Talk to the financial aid office and see if there is anything they can help you with--if not this semester then in the future.
