My Mother Doesn’t Pass the Credit Check
What happens is my mother doesn’t pass the credit check for a parent plus loan?
Hello.Just a quick question…what will happen if my mother does not pass the credit check for the parent plus loan? And if she does pass the credit check, how long will it take for the school to receive it and what if there is money left over from that? Will she receive it or will I?Thanks in Advance

If she isn’t approved, typically you can go to your financial aid office or call them, and fill out a form, or write a letter, explaining that your parent was denied, and you would like to request additional federal funding. Usually they will issue an additional unsub loan of up to 4,000 for freshman, more for upperclass.
Lets assume that she will pass the credit check, then she’ll get the check not the school. If there is money left over for the tuition, she can use it to buy you some new clothes or shoes.
If she doesn’t pass the credit check than you wont be receiving the loan. If she does pass than its up to your school when they start accepting payments and if there is money left over than they will send it to you or your mom.
