Poor credit mortgage?

Hi, I’m looking at buying a house later this year with my partner. I have a poor credit score, but hers is good.
I had a few financial problems just over 3 years ago, and haven’t applied for any credit since.
I’ve been financially very stable in this time, but have made no credit applications, which has made my score worse.
My partner has a mortgage, and we both have full time jobs earning £30k a year each(£60k a year)
We’re looking at buying at £200k, with a £40k deposit. Am i kidding myself wanting a mortgage of £160k?

Have you obtained a copy of your credit report from Experian or Equifax – does it show any unpaid CCJ’s or defaults ? If not on the figures provided you have a reasonable chance, assuming your partner is selling her property and repaying mortgage.
Suggest you seek professional advice from an independent mortgage adviser.
    Good luck
